SP3: Wa Dialect!: Save Our Dialects

Studio project 3.
To create a Digital Festival promoting Singaporean Chinese dialects.
The final three images are part of the monthly collateral package that people can order from the digital festival website (video 2: website scroll through with sound).

In recent years, less and less Singaporean youths can understand dialects. The death of Dialects has resulted in a rift between grandparents and grandchildren. To promote dialects, the project uses grandparents' stories to raise interest and bring awareness to the beauty of dialect-speaking in Singapore.
Website.
The digital festival is an ongoing festival promoting dialects through stories. The festival site will host 4 childhood stories and memories of elderly dialect speakers from 2 Singaporean dialects each month. Stories can be read in a podcast style in their respective dialects by the storytellers.
Posters.
2 posters will be placed at bus stop advertising boards and posted on Instagram. The posters at bus stops will have QR codes and bar codes for the website and a Spotify podcast respectively. This is so passers by, students going to school or youths going out for example, will be able to listen and join the festival conveniently when they are on the go.
Monthly Subscription Package.
Consumers will also be able to subscribe to a monthly subscription package. It will include postcards that can act both as cue cards to help them remember the dialect words that they have learnt that month. On top of this story books with a glossary and english translation of the dialects are also part of the package. Stamps will be added in as a memento, depicting an illustration of the dialects' enclaves.
